El Manantial Sagrado

"El Manantial Sagrado" (2014) se centra en la figura de una joven náyade —una ninfa de cuerpos de agua dulce— sentada en la orilla de un manantial protegido por ella. La acompaña una pareja de espíritus silvestres con forma de zorro que, al igual que su hermana protectora, cuidan la apacible fuente de aguas curativas.

 

… Y la frágil náyade de cabellos de roble,

con un brillo en la mirada,
observó a sus hermanos en la orilla y sumergió finalmente las manos
en el manantial sagrado.

Como diminutas estrellas fugaces,
las gotas de la milagrosa fuente

se perdieron entre sus manos,
pero la esencia de la vida había quedado

reflejada en el rostro de la ninfa,
quien volvió a mirar a sus

hermanos con una sonrisa
tan dulce como el sabor

de las milagrosas aguas…

"The Sacred Spring" (2014) This painting focuses on the figure of a young naiad — a water nymph who presided over bodies of fresh water — sitting on the edge of a spring protected by her. Next to the nymph there’s a pair of wood spirits shaped as foxes that, like their protective sister, look after the healing waters.

 

... And the fragile oak-haired naiad,

with a gleam in her eyes,
looked at her brothers on the shore

and dipped her hands
in the sacred spring finally.

Like tiny shooting stars,
the drops of the miraculous spring

fell between her hands,
but the essence of life had been reflected

in the face of the nymph,
who looked at her

brothers again with a smile
as sweet as the taste

of the miraculous waters...
