Mis pinturas al óleo Bruja Blanca y Bruja Oscura fueron concebidas desde el inicio como una composición díptica, cada una contra parte de la otra, antagonistas en naturaleza y propósito.
En primer lugar, cabe destacar el contraste entre ambos personajes. La Bruja Blanca posee forma felina y un ave que la observa como mascota, mientras que la Bruja Oscura cuenta con una apariencia de cuervo y a su lado la acompaña un gato que atiende con sumo interés su labor. Además, la Bruja Blanca representa la Luz, simbolizada en su collar con la imagen del Sol, mientras que la Bruja Oscura representa la Noche, puesto que lleva un collar con la imagen de la Luna.
A continuación, es importante resaltar la actividad que cada una realiza. La Bruja Blanca, especialista en las artes de adivinación, se encuentra realizando un conjuro de protección a través de su bola de cristal para defenderse de la Bruja Oscura, que intenta deshacerse de ella con un maleficio y una Poción de Muerte. El propósito de ambas hechiceras se encuentra resumido tanto en el Pergamino de Protección como el Libro de Magia que aparecen junto a ellas.
Finalmente, vale la pena mencionar los pentáculos que aparecen en la parte inferior de las pinturas, inspirados en la Wicca, y que representan el equilibrio entre los cuatro elementos del mundo (aire, tierra, agua y fuego) con el espíritu. También simbolizan el poder de lo femenino.
My oil paintings White Witch and Dark Witch were conceived from the beginning as a diptych composition, each against the other one, antagonists in nature and purpose.
In first place, I'd like to emphasize the contrast between both characters. The White Witch has a feline form and a bird as a pet that observes her, while the Dark Witch has a crowlike appearance and is accompanied by a cat that watches with great interest her work. In addition, the White Witch represents the Light, symbolized in her necklace with the image of the Sun, while the Dark Witch represents the Night, since she is wearing a necklace with the image of the Moon.
Next, it's important to highlight the activity they perform. The White Witch, a specialist in the divination arts, is performing a protection spell through her crystal ball to defend herself against the Dark Witch, who tries to get rid of her with a hex and a Death Potion. The purpose of both sorcerers is summarized in the Protection Scroll and the Magic Book that appear alongside them.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the pentacles that appear in the lower part of the paintings, inspired by Wicca, and which represent the balance between the four elements of the world (air, earth, water and fire) with the spirit. They also symbolize the power of the feminine.
